World Design Protopolis (WDP)™ is a design-led transformation programme that recognizes cities as living prototypes. Working alongside local governments, institutions, designers and communities, the programme strengthens local capacity to tackle complex challenges through participatory design, creating more adaptable, inclusive and resilient urban futures.

World Design Protopolis Bengaluru

As the pilot city for World Design Protopolis (WDP)™, Bengaluru (India) is exploring how design can address urban challenges through research, collaboration and collective participation. Working across a diverse range of neighbourhoods and public spaces, the programme is focused on how local action can contribute to a more resilient city.

Led by World Design Organization (WDO)® and delivered through a collaborative network of local partners, the programme is building knowledge, testing ideas and iterating design solutions to demonstrate how design can strengthen civic quality of life in Bengaluru.
